- שְׁאַרII Pa. שָׁאֵר (denom. of מֵשָׁאר, v. מֵישָׁרָא) to plant in beds. B. Kam.81a שַׁאֲרֵיה מֵשָׁארֵי לאדםוכ׳ (Ms. M. שדיא משראי לשראי, read: משארי משארי; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) if he planted in beds, it shows that he planted it for human food; if not, it is intended for cattle.
